A strong economy is based on people just like us, people who are working hard to provide for their families, contribute to their communities and working together to create a brighter, more prosperous future for our nation. Building a strong economy by investing in our communities from the ground up, including investing the infrastructure that forms the backbone of our economy.
A strong economy has to be built from the ground up, not the top down. The tales of “trickle down economics” don’t work. Even economic leaders know if we want to see real economic growth that benefits real people and families and creates more opportunities for our children, we need to invest in our people and our communities to make that a reality.
For too long politicians and the special interests whose agenda they support have used our tax money to benefit the privileged few. As those at the very top get ever wealthier, our communities are hurting, our infrastructure is crumbling and real opportunities for economic growth are passing us by. Together, we are going to change that because we know by working together and making room for everyone at the table, we can create jobs and prosperity that is shared broadly and build the strong economy we all want and deserve.
I will support investing in our crumbling infrastructure to make us safer and healthier while getting people back to work and create jobs that cannot be outsourced. Infrastructure investment is the most effective way to stimulate growth and build a strong economy. Infrastructure investment not only creates jobs in our communities now, it lays the foundation for the growth of businesses big and small that will make our community, and our nation, strong for years to come.
